The TOPIGS 40 sow is an F1 animal based on the A-line (Large White type) and B-line (Landrace type). The sow’s qualities are:
- robust sow with a renowned feed intake capacity
- good performance, even under challenging conditions
- excellent utility characteristics, very good in showing oestrus
- needs limited labour input
- strong legs and high number of parities per sow
- economic piglet production of strong fatteners with a good meat percentage
